looking good, are you set on the rock work? Lots of room for your corals to grow.

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
I am open for ideas on rock work.
I woke up this morning to a kalk overdose.... Read to put a mil per gallon of vinegar on reefkeeper mag, to lower ph( after testing of course) did it before I left for work, came home and checked at lunch, back down to 8.6, my chalice took a beating, maybe a green slimer, other than that, I think everything is ok.

I wouldn't in its current form, I just wanted to see if it was possible. It would be cool to show your temp/ph on the bottom though.

I didn't, but he helped me a little bit with making a really small one. I really don't like crazy big banners, they are annoying, but I would like a really small one that just showed temp/ph.

I just checked your tank on reeftronics. Is your pH probe calibrated? Why is it so low?

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
Not sure why, I did calibrate it, but I am not sure if I did it correctly. I have more solution, so I may retry it. What is the process for it? I know how to do it on the Apex, but how long are you supposed to leave it in the solution. When you go from each solution, your supposed to rinse it in RO water right?

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
I don't have the Apex. On the RK, you are suppose to save the calibration when the numbers are stable. I don't know if this makes sense but the data numbers jump around for a few minutes when soaking in the solution for each stage (pH 7.0, 10.0 etc).

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
Nice, although I am going to want to add the WXM module so it will go into night mode by itself. Eventually, not in a hurry. But it looks a lot cleaner than the other 2 pumps and the wave box. The footprint is tiny.
I am working on a "future list" Basically the parts I will put into my tank in the future. Heres the list, in priority. What do you guys think?
1.MP10
2.LED Lights Display
3.EB8
4.LED Refuge(needed before I go to dosing pumps(for space)
5.Dosing pump(bubble magnus)/CA reactor
6. Large return pump feeding into a manifold, running Reactor/skimmer/return/chiller thinking laguna 2900(http://www.amazon.com/Laguna-Max-Flo-Electronic-Waterfall-Filter/dp/B000HAU4RW)
7.Another 6025 for the back right of my tank.
8.WXM(more of a nicety)
This isn't an overnight list, just something I have been thinking about. I want to have a direction for my tank pre-planned(although its always subject to change) so I am not throwing money at different things on the way. Also, I want to have the list pre-generated, so if I ever catch a smoking deal online, I will jump on it.
What do you think about the priority side of things, would you change anything on my list? Add anything? Remove anything.

Looks like a good list, although I would get dosing pumps before upgrading lights only for stability purposes. For your fuge, which LED's would be comparible to 6500K?

JBJ nano glo uses 6500K daylight LED's. I probably would do the same

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
So my chiller went out. I added another fan, and its doing ok. So I have a question, should I put the 100$ into getting the replacement part( talked to jbj) or should I just go led, since then I wouldn't need the chiller?

wow that was fast to burn out your chiller! My chiller has been working for over 3 years for me but doesn't turn ON as much as your system. What was the bad part on your chiller? My tank will still get hot if I go to LED since we have a few days over 90 degrees in camarillo.

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
They said to replace the controller. Its what cycles the pump motor on and off. as well as turns on the fan. After I would do that, it would give me a code if there was something else wrong with it.
I have the old dial type of chiller. they sell an upgrade that turns it digital, which is what I would have to get.

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
Going to have some update pictures hopefully today. But I have done a lot in the last few weeks.
I no longer have my wave box, I now have 2 MP10wes in my tank.
My chiller broke, but I bypassed the controller(on the chiller) and its now fixed.
Added a few corals, and glued down a bunch of them(finally)
Moved the tunze around a bit. Going for a different direction of flow.
got the sand bed fixed too.
Here is a pic of the apex and MP10 drivers.... kind of get that warm fuzzy feeling. Feel really blessed

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
its on the outside right, I am going to be putting cable sheathing(like on vehicles) around the cables to make it look nicer in the near future. I put it where i did to make certain no water would come in contact with either of them.
Here is a picture showing the location.
If/when I finally get that side stand and small frag tank built, I will probably put it in there(make a compartment for electronics) I have an idea of what I want to do, just don't know when it will materialize.

Ahh, I believe there's a mode to turn off all the lights from the drivers so they don't distract you or the fish at night.
Or does that not bother you?

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
Jimmy, I know you and I talked about this before, but, with sync vs anti sync. if I have them in anti sync the max flow combined would only be maybe 2000gph, thats pretty much it for the whole tank(tunze is 400? and return is about the same)
If I put them in sync, the total at one point would be up to 3000 gph. if set at 100%.
But at sync, it would vary the flow between about 600gph total to 3000gph total
vs ant sync which would hold it steady around 2000GPH(just the % of how much on each side changes)
So which do you think would be better. I have them slightly off center of each other and they are 4 foot away so I don't know how much they will fight each other(although I know they will a bit)

Apparently since I have the most barren tank, I am a good candidate to hold corals until certain members get off their but and finish their 90 gal(you know who you are)

Re: Dwolson's 75Gal tank
Just got the WXM in and another tunze 6025. Counts is now 2 6025's (one in each corner) and 2 MP10's(one on each side) MP10s are programmed to run antisync(all day) to 100% on reefcrest during the day, 55% of lagoon at night and feed mode during feed mode. Also, the fallback is now slow as well. (constant 30%)
Also, Jimmy lent/gave me his spare PH probe, so I will be able to keep an eye on it, and have double eyes on PH, so the risk of ODing on kalk is a lot lower

I like them, fairly gentle and quiet. The used one I just got is a little louder than the other one I had, but it is still pretty quiet.
