Going to be setting up my tank soon and asking if its necessary to use a GFI outlet? Is more headache? Too many people have had problems with it.

Put in a GFCI breaker in the box for that outlet instead. My GFCI outlet tripped due to mositure inside the cabinet getting in the breaker and made me loose 10 of my prize fish. I haven't had any issues since I removed them and went with GFCI breakers.

Re: GFI for your tank
If any one needs a gfci breaker or outlet installed, I will do it for MASVC memebers and affiliates in exchange for a scoop of live sand, or an ounce of purple up, or some zoanthinds. I am a safety concious electrician with a low budget nano cube. Salt water is HIGHLY conductive with electricity!
