Doubtful, I think you hit the nail on the head with the brand of salt you're using. The demand for the big 3 is not there so you're just increasing the levels every time you change the water. I would stop using the kalk reactor until you get enough corals in there to utilize the benefits. Hopefully your salinity is good now and you won’t have to keep adding more salt.clownfish14 wrote:That’s the plan once the doser is up and running. Is the high alk because of the kalk?

Re: Clownfish14's 90 gallon of sexyness
Just read through the thread... First off, great job with the build. Led setup looks great and seems to have good adjustability for color.
Dd you get the alk/ca/mag in line?
Good read too. Made me chuckle.
How about a newer FTS?

I was on nano reef for a while and a thread there was over 250 pages before the tank even got there.
That's when I decided to stick with the local sites.

Alk/ca and mag are on their way back up but i still have not gotten the doser up yet so i am having to do it by hand right now which sucks. New FTS is being uploaded as we speak

Re: Clownfish14's 90 gallon of sexyness
ask jimmy they eat snails, shrimp and other inverts. unless you dont want a clean up crew I would ditch him. I have seen them in person take out shrimp and snails. they bash the crap out of shrimp and then eat all the good stuff and the flip over snails and just pick them to death.

look on live aquaria its listed under non reef safe wrasses. Also like I said ask jimmy. Robert in simi robexcoral or now reefkid had one and he put 2 cleaner shrimp in his tank with a couple of hermits and snails and right away it took out one of the shrimp and flipped over a turbo snail and started picking at it.

Seriously tho I would put some serious thought before putting it into your tank. Once he goes in he aint coming out. If I were you I would get a leopard wrasse. they are sooo much cooler and reef safe.
