Ok time for a tank update. First lets talk about the problem. Over the last couple of months it seems like the tank has been going downhill just getting worse and worse. I'm not sure why and I have tried almost everything to try and fix it. Corals are dying left and right but luckly no fish have been lost as of yet. Me and my dad had become fed up with it and decided to try a whole new maintain routine as a last ditch effort to try and save everything. First we set up a whole new water change system in a shed outside. We figured the easier it is for us to do a waterchange the better chance we will have of having the time to fit it into our scheduals. So we built that. Basically with some turns of valves we can pump freshwater into the mixing barrel mix the saltwater and then finally pump it into the tank. I will get some pics up of the build tomorrow. This makes it super easy to do waterchanges. The next thing we did was redesign our plumbing in our frag tank. We figured the less dead spots in the system the better and the bottom of the frag tank was a pretty bad dead spot so we added a spray bar for the return and two one inch drains so we could really ramp up the flow in there without the use of the bulky mp10 which kept falling off due to the thickness of the glass. This is working amazingly and has completly wiped out that dead spot. We have also done some other things like add a pump to the refugium to kill dead spots, fixed the carbon and gfo reactors to keep them from getting clogged to fast and making a calendar with our daily mainanince all listed out so that we could keep track of what we had done each day even if we didnt see each other to talk it over for the day. One last thing we did was a great idea my dad had. Basically instead of having to break off frozen food, cut it up, and defrost it each day for feeding we got a couple of ice cube trays cut up a bunch of food all at once added some tank water and froze them making larger food cubes for each day which are easy to grab defrost and feed the same amount each day. That's pretty much it for now. I'm thinking about biopellets but I'm not totally convinced they work yet. I'm also debating wether I should take the sand out of my refugium seeing that it is only about 4 inches and I read it needs to be at least 7 to work right as a DSB. Maybe it is causing more problems then helping out. I'm still not sure... Anyways I will get some pics up tomorrow of the waterchange shed and the frag tank. I'm going to hold off on some tank shots until everything starts looking a little better

That's awesome!!! How many bags of concrete did it take to make that pad???

It was like 4.5 or so. Not to many. We didnt make it to thick

It is awesome though it makes things so much easier its crazy! no more water on the floor or trying to run hoses from barrel to tank ect.

Well the tanks are defiantly back on track. Everything is looking really good although not growing to fast yet I'm working on getting my ca mag and kh all level so that incan figure out how much I need to add every day

Well I finally was able to get all of dwolsons coral out of my frag tank! I can now start really stocking my tank up and getting it back on track. Hope all the stuff makes it Derrick! Make sure to take pics
