    hey guys so i decided to set my 70 gal tank back up, i dont know if i should just play it safe and use my t5 ho setup that is 324w or should i just setup a diy led kit.... what do you guys think would be the most efficient lighting to use? i want to do lps with some sps as well

    Its up to you but if you already have the T5 setup why not use it. If you want to go to LED, there are many setups to choose from.

    Or if you can do it, go with sun light and supliment it with a little blue LED. Smile

    The wallet probably wont be though...I still have only seen one LED fixture that I would put over a show tank. Hopefully the new AI makes it two.

    But, some people the time is less expensive than paying for the fixture. That would be me. I actually had a discussion about this once, and if a Guy made like 50/60$ an hour, it could be better to work 4-5 extra hours at work, buy the nice fixture as opposed to the 10-15 hours of diy time.

    Yea, but you can't always get the OT to work and make the extra money for it. Wink

    If you can find some nice pendants, you can go with the PAR 38 LED's. They are nice and seem to cost less than the otehr units. The Dr's have them for like 120.
