    Can a glass brace across the top of the tank change the color spectrum of t5's to cause an algae bloom? I have noticed that directly under the bracing I have a lot of algae growth. There is some growth out side of the bracing but the majority is directly under the bracing.

    It will change the spectrum. Glass blocks UV and a few other spectra of light. do some google searches on it.
