First off Welcome and Absolutely! This is a great place to learn how to start up a SW tank. Everyone is friendly and I myself have learned a lot. Where are you located? and lets see some pics of your current tank!

Welcome. What type of questions do you have about switching over? Do you have any SW knowledge?
Hope to see you at the meetings!

Other than the smell of burning money, what's holding you back?

Re: Hi can I join too?
I live in Fillmore with my husband and 16 month old son who is all over the place. We're looking to move shortly. I would love to switch to SW now but with a little guy running around and looking for a new house it's a little too crazy to switch over right now. I would love to come to a meeting but I'm not sure I can make it right now because I put my son to bed at that time and he's still just a young guy. I had FW tanks when I was young and have had a small one for the last year. I don't have any experience with SW tanks but really want to learn about them so that I can switch over at some point. How do I post a picture of my tank? I have one on my desktop but have never posted one on a forum before.

Here is a link to how to post.http://www.masvc.org/t528-uploading-pictures-to-the-forum-via-photobucket
Send me a PM with your email, I have a "beginners guide" with some basic terminology that I had to make for a work project. It can give you a few clues to how a Reef tank works/is run.

Re: Hi can I join too?
I had a little problem with algae recently. Here is a picture before the algae incident.
Here is my tank after having to replace all of the plants.
It's only a ten gallon but I'm upgrading to a larger tank this month.

Thanks I haven't had much time to devote to it this last year with the baby and all.

Re: Hi can I join too?
Beautiful tank you should check out the selling part of the forum if you are going to upgrade and start the new tank as freshwater, I would get something that is also ready for SW when you are ready to switch. It will save you money for having to buy a different tank.
