Club Meeting at Extreme Marine - April 27th @ 5:30 - 7:00pm

Hey MASVC and friends!

The next Marine Aquarium Society of Ventura County meeting will be Sunday, April 27th, 2013 at Extreme Marin in Ventura!

Aaron (manager) will have a topic to discuss.

There will be food and drinks, along with a frag tank for the raffle.

You don't have to be a member to attend the meeting so come on out!

Sounds great! We should do a mini frag swag. Everyone brings one COOL frag from their collection and we do a game or something like a white elephant sorta deal. Just something fun and different

Some stuff to be raffled off provided by MASVC are TWO Ultra Maxima Clams, Hammer head coral, and a Red Sea Star.

Lido that sounds fun and interesting.

I'm in line for it too but not in any rush, that's why I didn't take it at the last meeting. That and being on the bike.

I'm planning on being at the meeting. The games/frags sounds cool but I don't have anything to frag right now. But I will take my chances at the hammer coral raffle.

Anyone got some pod infested cheato to help bulk my pod population and seed a small tank? (:

Yeah Im not sure who has it but whoever has it and if they are done should bring it to the next meeting... Not sure if there is an official sign up sheet for it but we should have one... lol and yeah I have lost of chaeto with pods if mike does not have enough. lol

One week away!!! And I will be bringing the 3' frag tank for paid members to buy sell and trade their corals. All you gotta do is be a paid member, bring your frags and sell them to others at meetings. This will be a new thing that we will be doing at all of our club meetings.

How does paid membership work MxReEfer92

Paid membership is $25 for the year. That gives you access to club rental items which include a PAR meter, Fish trap, Band saw and the privilege to sell at meeting out of the club frag tank. You will also get free admission to our annual FRAG show in November/December. It will also give you a ticket to our members only raffle that we will be holding at each meeting. You will get a membership card with your name on it and some places offer discounts to paid members. I know extreme marine does as well as Aaron with SoCal Corals. And Paul with fantastic frags was offering a free frag to any new paid member to the club (still gotta check up with him on that). In the end it's a win win to support the club. Everyone benefits from it

Alright, I wanna get some frags at the meet. Sigh me up

Almost forgot to post this! For the raffle this month is an awesome zoa frag pack!

Sorry pic is horrible. Stuff was just waking when this was taken and haven't had time to take a new one. Everything opens up nice and healthy.

Easily over a $200 pack. Some zoas in the pack are Blondies, Dragon ball z, Pink Elephant, Emeralds on fire....




Might be bringing a few other coral too. :-)

Hey MASVC! I've known Cory for a couple years now and have participated at FRAG almost every year. Been wanting to attend a meeting for the longest time and then Cory extended an invitation when we met up at MAX. Looking forward to finally joining up at your club meeting. I'm one of the moderators at CCRK. It's a great forum, but not a club. So, I'm really excited!

Oh, and if anyone is looking for some free chaeto just let me know by noon tomorrow. I'll also bring a frag or two to donate for the raffles.

Looking forward to making it to this one too! Like Flomojo I have known Cory for a while now, and have had a booth at FRAG since almost the beginning. I've met a few of you at events like FRAG, MAX and RAP over the years, getting down to a meeting is gonna be fun!

What a great club...great people! I had a nice time meeting up with all of you, talking reef, enjoying free pizza/drinks, nice discounts, nice raffle prizes...signing up as a member was a no-brainer. Big thanks to Extreme Marine for their hospitality, and to all who put the meeting together. I'm acclimating the ultra grade maxima and that cool starfish I won as I write this...Thanks again! Already looking forward to next months meeting
