Are you going to us the water from UCSB? Did you end up testing the water? If so what did you find ?

When I tested the water the result were
Ca: 440
Alk: 8 something don't remember exactly
Mg: 15ish
Sg: 1.26
Water was cold. When I tested

I'm not sure if I will use that water I might now because I need the ability to control my water quality I might use it for the start up maybe but not sure yet

sweet, i didnt know ucsb filtered ocean water until i was over by there playing soccer and got into chatting with a marine bio student. just out of curiosity since im pretty new to the saltwater scene, what are the pro's and con's to using filtered ocean water?

I would like to know what the number are that your looking for? I don't test right now. I just do waterly water changes. I use the Catalina water from extreme.

Alk so low because running bp and might run zeovit later down the road idk yet

On my 40b I run those number but sense it a mix reef I shot for nitrate at .01 and phos: .02 u need those to be around there because if my water to clean ill either slow growth on my soft / Lps or even end up dying
