Just got home and noticed that the water is a little bit milky looking or a lite haze. Water params are good. Ph 8.2(light on for 5 hrs), alk 9dkh, cal 450, mag 1300, nitrates .01, nitrites undetectable. I also noticed some brown diatoms. Pwc this past weekend. Any ideas?

Did anything stir up the sand? Is your filtration working fine?

Filtration seems to be good I just cleaned everything this weekend as well. Soaked everything in ro/di and put everything back together. The only thing that really messes with the sand is a watchman goby and the purple pseudochromis. I don't think they stir it up enough to cause the tank to go milky. Btw this is in my 60. Could it be some sort of bacteria bloom.

When dosing 2 part, how long do you wait to add calcium and alkalinity? A precipitation event can occur with dosing 2 part but it would be a snowglobe affect on your tank. I've had that happen to my tank.

I wait 5 mins. The bottle isn't very specific on how long to wait. What would happen if you don't wait long enough or you wait too long?
