I have a 34G Solana and would like to move my M10 to the middle chamber in the back.

Here are the dimensions and a pictures of someone that made one for an MP40, 4x4x6 3/8 with one side of the box with a 5/8" extension.

I not sure how much smaller the dry side of an MP10 is compared to an MP40, but those dimensions fit fix in the same tank.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone with experience with acrylic or even a good reference for someone in the area that does acrylic.

    Any input is greatly apprecated!

I'll be happy to help out, get the exact dimensions that you want the "dry box" to be and I'll see what I can do.

sisterlimonpot thank you again for your help!

I was able to get someone's dimensions that had one made:

    Overall external height 7.75 inches.
Internal horizontal dimensions, 2.25 x 2.75 inches. Note that this is internal so the external dimensions will be larger. The 2.75 inch side is the face. The mp10 will sandwich this side.

    Use 3/16th inch acrylic.

Let me know if you can do it and the cost and again thank you very much!!

I don't have 3/16 but I can make ut out if 1/8 which is 1/16 thinner which is good yo allow better magnetic coupling between the two halves. as far as price I'd say $20 should cover it. let me know if you're ok with that and u will start making it.

Good pt on the thickness. Sounds great to me I can pay u at the next meeting or even the frag swap. Thanks again!

With it being 7 3/4" tall it's going to take a lot holding power from the permanent magnets for it to be able to stay submerged under water.

I'm not sure why it needs to be so tall honestly. The MP10es back is only a few inches tall. I guess the hieght is to cover the distance from placement to top of tank.

Normally the dry box won't be under water, only if the return pump is turned off would the water rise high enough to be a concern.

The reason for the height is so that you can have the pump low enough in the tank so that it doesn't cavitation and spit microbubble all through out the tank. I'm curious how well the mp10 will hold the piece in place. I'm about to upload a pic of it...

The MP10 alone is pretty weak magnet. I'll prob. buy a loose magnet like I use for my skimmer to keep it placed.

    thanks again for doing this!!

    Very nice!

I'm thinking it won't even need a magnet to hold it up. The middle chamber is my media basket, this looks like it will rest right on that.

Works great! It's a little too tall, but I can easily fix that. It sticks above where my lid would be by slightly over an inch.

Looks good, how does the magnetic pull feel with it? Does it have a strong hold?

If you know someone with a table saw you can have them trim the top off a bit.
