I would look into diy then. It seems to be the best way to go. Its the cheapest and you can set it up how you want it. Im ordering from reefledlights in the next few days so i will post up my build so you can see if its the way you want to go

Or Vegas. Ill have one soon to see how it looks. Should be a sweet fixture for a decent bit less than the Radions.

Re: Mando805's 170g Bowfront
Rapid led has a knock off version of the ai sol for 220. Its the same as the super blue. I am going to do a write up of it when I get it.
I think a diy is the most cost effective way to go. The one I am getting is still diy.
If money wasn't a big issue, i would pick up radions.

I was told by August (but AI is not the speediest with releases). They have officially begun preselling these and I have ordered one for testing. Pricing is MAP 499$ for color controllable version. I do not know if this includes the wireless controller. All Vegas come with wireless built in and an app for available smart phones, but they are also releasing an update to their controller and I believe a dongle to add to old Sol and Nano models. They also have a new rail mounting system that is out now. I'll let you know when I get my Vega.

They need a better rail anyways. I was disappointed when I received my rail. I had to drill my own holes, which I believe is a poor design.

Yeah, I had a lot of complaints about the mounting systems they employed. The Nano was sold with such a crappy arm. Waste of time and money. The new rails look very nice.

Its called a square back anthias they would be a great addition to your 300 but they would be a little big for your current tank they get huge like almost tang sizedsisterlimonpot wrote:I don't know the names of those anthias that has a purple square on their sides but I always wanted to get a couple of those.
Dude this thing eats everything from pods to frozen to flake and even pellets!Sandman wrote:Mondo- Is your Manderin eating prepared food? If not, are you adding pods?

Re: Mando805's 170g Bowfront
So today I picked up 2 MP40wes's and I stopped in at Vivid Aquariums with cory and ordered my new lighting! I have Decided to go with the Aqua Illiumination Vegas. I chose this because the par on AI units are great and I love how the are 100% wireless. I will post pics as soon as I get them and put up over the tank.

Re: Mando805's 170g Bowfront
Alright so it has been a while and I have had a bad run with my tank. I ended up loosing My purple tang, yellow tang, lamarks angel, flame angel ], diamond goby and square back anthia This was due to overfeeding and lack of water changes that had my nitrates through the roof. On the upside I did get my AI Vegas I only got two to see if it was enough but it is defiantly not and I will be getting a third. Here are a few pics.

Re: Mando805's 170g Bowfront
Nice, how do you like the vegas so far?
oh and I don't think that overfeeding and high nitrates would kill your fish. your nitrates would have to be way way way up there for fish to take notice.

Re: Mando805's 170g Bowfront
His nitrate had to have been over 400 because a couple of fish died and he never found them and he has no clean up crew.
