Its has not been completely determined. Some say it asexual like clowns, and they do not split. But it said it was highly unlike to reproduce in captivity.

I've had my Tube Anenome for about 5 years now and have never seen any sign of it even starting to split. But it is a hardy animal. At least for me. I've swapped it to three different tanks over the years with no problems.
