Vince, stay away from the buttefly. They seem to be problems.

Instead, try and find a good Moorish Idol since you are going fish only. You'll need to feed them a little more but it's worth it in the end. I had mine for 4 years before I lost him.

Or a tank full of nice wrasses would look cool too. That or Anthias. The AoP has a 500G tank full of nothing but Anthias and it looks cool.

Are you putting all these angels together in the same tank?

Thanks Ray, I think I am going to try out a Moorish Idol instead of the butterfly. My wife has been wanting a morrish idol since I first got the tank, so she will be happy.

Justin, yes I will be putting them in the same tank.

bicolor angels have a history of not doing well in captivity long term. id pick another one...

If you have a QT I can get you fish, but I can not hold them and cant guarantee them.

I wouldn't get a moorish idol, Those are by far my favorite fish of all time hands down. I am in no way someone who is out to yell at people about putting fish in to small of a tank but MIs are the exception. I dont believe these fish should be in the hobby except for people who have extremely large tanks. Some people may have success keeping them in 150+ tanks but its tough to find one that will have that success. From what I have read they are schooling fish that travel fast distances (much larger of an area than almost any tank). They are such elegant fish and look beautiful swimming in the ocean but it just looks painful for them to be in a small box. Just think about being stuck in your house for your whole life, you may be able to fit in it and survive but is it natural for a human to be stuck in a 2,000-3,000 square foot box? I dont normally have an opinion on who puts what in their tank but this is my soft spot, I mean I have a 5'' Sailfin tang in my 50 gallon. It kills me to see him in there but I have had no interest when I try to sell it. So he might find himself in a tank at AoP soon.

I can get a QT Setup with some stuff I still have in the garage. Do you have an idea on what the price would be for flame angels, brazilian flamebacks and moorish idols? Or do you not know until you actually go to get them?

Pricing changes from week to week, so when your QT is setup and ready to go, shoot me an email and we can discuss pricing.

    Coryg,
Not going to debate it here but a lot has changed over the years. There's a nice big long thread on RC that covers what we have learned about M.I's by those of us who have actually kept them for more than a few months. Mine being 4+ years old when I lost him due to MY mistake/tank failure, not his.

And they are mainly found in pairs, not big schools. Wink

If youd like to debate it, start a thread in the fish forum. Wink
