    Has anyone ever brought some corals or fish back with them on an air line?

    I've found a couple of really nice corals up here in Portland that I'd like to buy and bring back with me. One is a toadstool that has blue tips on the poylops.

    I know to pack it well with a heat pack in a cooler. But what about the airline? I haven't called them yet but plan on talking to them or teh TSA on my next trip home.

    there was a thread on RC that some from a conference asked the same thing to hand carry it on the plane. Look it up. I remember that TSA allowed the fish if they could visually see the fish was alive in the bag but we all know they make up their own rules depending on who you run into.

    As far as corals, its easier to pack it in your check-in luggage with foam.

    That's just it, I don't have any check baggage. I'm traveling light. Just a backpack. I wash my clothes before I leave and put them and my canned goods in my suitcase and put it on the ship till I return. Less carrying back and forth and I can get thru the airport faster.

    I'll talk to the TSA folks when I go board in a few weeks.
