Nick the site looks great! Everyone voted for a new forum. And you went the extra mile and took the time and researched it. Thank you for all your hard work. You have lots of ideas and I want to thank you. I love the new forum. you made it happen

After taking a quick tour it seems fairly straight forward. Looking forward to having a site to go to with more of a local group of people so we can really kickstart thi community.

Looks good so far. But I had a hell of a time getting registered. Seems the system didn't want to accept the code I was putting in even though it was the correct code. Took about 10 tries on two different days. But I'm finally in.

When you say code are you talking about the security code you have to enter?

yep, that's the one. First time was my fault as I didn't pay attention to upper/lower case letters. That's what happens when you get old. All of the rest of the times I did though but I have no clue why it wouldn't take.

Hmm thats weird well ill look into it and see what i can do.

I have always hated those little squiggly codes. Half the time I cant read them anyways.

Ya i know i do too but it really help to keep the spam out of the site which to me seems worth it.

Not likely. Been out of the hobby over 2 years now. I'll probably see you all again at the next F.R.A.G. Swap.

Nope... I enjoyed the hobby very much. It just wasn't compatible with the family and my income.

Who voted that they didnt like the new site? Would you mind explaning why you dont and hopefully we can change some things and make the site better.

Sorry, that was me. I'm actually a web designer/programmer/administrator. I don't like the color scheme or overall design. It is quite functional, but it could be simplified and made easier on the eyes for sure. There is definitely better messageboard software out there too. Sorry for being so critical; I know I'm very new and everything, but I have lots of experience with this kind of thing.

Oh really cool ya i would love your input on it. Ill talk with you about it at the next meeting and hopefully i can get this site looking even better

If I were you, I'd use a Wordpress homepage that has phpBB integration. You could easily have a beautiful, very powerful, and easy-to-manage setup. Have you used Wordpress or phpBB before? They both have huge support communities, are easy to customize, and are easy to integrate.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, all still free.

No i havent im still new to this and this looked pretty easy to use so
I went with it but i would love to figure out how to use thoes other things especially if it would make it look better.

I love this forum. It nice, neat and organized. Very simple to use. Slot easier on the eyes than reef central.

It's good to see that there's some fresh meat in the club and that you're updating the site and everything. I haven't been to a meeting in over 6 months, and it seems like there's an entirely new crew. Just my 2 cents on the board: I would cut the number of forums down significantly. Having numerous specialized forums works on a giant board with thousands of members, but on a board this size it makes it look like a ghost town when you have 20 different forums with 0 or 1 post, and it's a lot of clicking around. With a group this size who all know each other fairly well and are interested in what each other have to say you'd be fine with just a handful of forums. Nice work though. Where do you guys meet these days? Who are the officers?
