Looking for suggestions on T5 bulb combinations. I have a mixed reef (LPS, SPS and softies) and stocking more SPS in my DT. My lighting setup is 8x36" bulbs

I ran this combo for 1.5 yrs
    (4) Blue plus
    (2) Actinic
    (2) Aquablue Special

currently using this combo for 10 months
    (2) Blue plus
    (2) Purple plus
    (2) Aquablue Special
    (2) Actinic

I see that more people are using B+ and P+ and wanted to see if thats a new trend for a reason.

That seems like a good combo. Last time I got bulbs, i got the B+ and P+, they really make the tank very blue. it took some getting use to but I love the way it looks. the corals are very vibrant.

On my old tank I used to run a power chrome 50/50 with my 20k metal halide. I found it too white, and put in an actinic. Now that I have 14k mh, I have been looking at how to get a little more blue. I think it really depends on the person. I have read some old threads and it doesn't seem like people are really going to one side (whitish or blueis h)

Also I think that color will look nice!

Yes my tank has always had the 'too blue' look and the purple has added to it. I guess there isn't a magic combination of bulbs.

I have gone to running 4b+, 1p+, and 1 actinic in my 6 bulb. I love the color. I used to run the AB special, but they seemed to just washout the tank so i stopped.

Not sure how I will do the 8 bulb when i get it going. Prob 5b+, 2 actinic, and 1 p+.

Has any tried the new ATI Coral Plus bulb?

I'm thinking of swapping my Actinic to Coral Plus.

    My future combination would be:
    (2) ATI Blue Plus
    (2) ATI Purple Plus
    (2) ATI Coral Plus
    (2) ATI Aquablue Special

I'm running 2 actinics one 10k and one red wave. I love the way my tank looks now. Corals glow especially anything red or orange.
