Just joined...not sure where to start...but I have frags to trade. I live in T.O.

So I just joined and don't really know the rules so I'm sure I'll get baptism by fire if I did something wrong. Anyway, I have some frags for trade.

The short of it - I have frags for trade:
I have 3x Nuclear (neon) green candy cane corals mounted on plugs. There are at least 5 heads per each frag and they are very well established. These came off a thriving mother colony that I had to prune back to reduce it's size. I'm looking to trade for small, SPS cuttings, specifically unique, rare, or just plain colorful. I don't expect a big frag or it to be on a plug...a small pinky-tip sized frag will do. If you are nearby Thousand Oaks, hit me up, let's make a trade. I work from home so my schedule is flexible.

The long of it - about my tank...and a little about me:
I recently moved from the SF Valley to Thousand Oaks (I love it here!). I've been in the hobby for years but took an extended break as I temporarily moved out of state and then went through a nasty divorce (is there any other kind?). Anyway, I started back in the hobby (addiction really) but going slowly. This means I picked up a used JBJ 28 gallon Nano LED Pro with stand. The tank has been running for five months and doing great. It's been modded of course but still looks mostly stock (replaced stock pumps, added more/better LEDs, e.g. Luxeon). I've got a handful of thriving SPS corals and a couple very healthy LPS, some of which I'm trading (listed above). My goals is to have it almost exclusively an SPS reef.

I'm a instrumentation and lighting specialist (do it for a living) so I know a lot. I build my own...well everything. At the moment I just make high output LED fixtures (small, application specific) but in the past I've made calcium reactors, protein skimmers, overflows, refugiums, UV sterilizers, etc, etc. I've even dabbled with variable frequency drives and motor control.

Welcome those are some nice liking candy canes I have a frag of diaseris plate coral that's pretty cool when it's grown out here is a pici hot it at max

As for the rules, as long as you're not a buisiness, and your not constantly selling things(as if you were a buisiness) you can post up right away. With all the big sites out there(RC, r2r, etc) we don't need another huge site. That said this is a great place to find good deals/trades, and get great information from those in the area. Thats the reason we don't have a minimum post to sell things here.

Wow...so many responses. Glad to see a small forum with people who actually participate.

Scubjaren - I'll trade for a piece if you're willing. Were you planning to make a cutting or did you want to wait until it breaks up on it's own? I've had these before and they sure love to break. Makes fragging easy. Is this yellow-green? What does it look like under daylight (6500k)?

dwolson2 - Thanks for the head's up. The rules sound easy enough. I like to trade coral, ideas, advice, and sometimes equipment. I figure trading is one way to subsidize an expensive hobby.

The frag looks good. When/where is a good place to make a trade? Now that I'm thinking about it, are you planning to go to the meeting on May 13th, 6:30-8PM at Mxreefers's House in Simi Valley? If so, perhaps that is the best place.

Actually that is a piece of confusa montipora that I broke off my mother colony. It is similar to the spongodes but it doesn't branch like a spongodes. I have both types of coral in my tanks.

I think I have the same montipora...picked it up from a Aquarium City in the SF Valley with some other orphan frags that they accidently broke off while cleaning their main display tank. It's the one in the middle.This said, I'm guessing I have the branching kind as the mother colony had a lot of fingers. Also, I need to find my digital SLR as my iPhone is marginal at taking photos thru glass. Also, can't seem to get the colors right.
