    Hey guys, does anyone have a diagram or have a set up on their RO system for a back flush?

    I've got a basic idea of how to do one but just wante dto see if anyone has bought one from a manufacture to see if I'm doing something wrong.

    I'm getting ready to purchase a new RO/DI unit and plan on plumbing in a back flush this time.

    It's not a back flush, just a flush. It bypasses the restriction on the end of the ro. I have one on mine. If the tds gets high(7-10) I'll flush it and it will go down to 4 or 5. Some systems automatically flush a min every hour.

    So your saying all it is is a bypass for the waste water restrictor?

    OK, just did a quick search and see that it is indeed as you say, just bypass the restrictor. I thought I had remembered from years ago of a back flush system. At least that's the way I had been doing mine, moving the input line to the waste line output and leaving the input line open, a reverse flush, but I guess that is not needed now, just a quick open flush after making water.

    I've heard it called a backflush before, but when I looked at how it was accomplshed, its not one. No worries. its very easy to install one on a previous RODI. Just add 2-y's with a valve parallel to the restrictor.

    Or add a T and a valve before the restrictor. Wink Remember mines out side and just drains into the yard so no need for fancy stuff. Smile

    Lol. I was trying to get the most flow performance for you. Its a carefully regulated performance with a T vs a Y....lol
    Yea a T would work fine, mine just has a Y Smile
