I inherted an old, early '50's era Cushman scooter from my Dad some time back. It ran but was a pain to get running and wasn't reliable. Since it was no where near stock, I decided to rebuild it and reto mod it. Here's what I started with.
I've gotten it tore down and have stripped off the old paint. I just ordered a bunch of bearings for teh wheels and front end. I found a wide tire for the rear and a new skinney front tire. This weekend I scored at Harbor freight's parking lot sale.
I picked up one of their 420cc 14 HP/18.5 TQ OHV electric start motors. I've got to do some mods to it to make it fit and work, but it will fit in. The goal is to gear it for about 45 MPH, add in a headlight, brake light and front disc brake, get it taged and ride it to work. Should be fun.
