1/2"glass 90->90 rimless

So I picked up a 90 that has 1/2" glass it's 48Lx18Wx23T and I'm wanting to remove the trim on top to turn it rimless. I'm leaving the trim on the bottom because the stand hides that. It has a back left corner overflow and a 12" support across the top I'm going to leave that.

My question is: think it will hold??

Thats a good question. Your best bet would be to euro brace it after taking the trim off just to make sure you won't have any problems down the road.

I want to euro it up cause I love the look but I can't afford the glass right now.
I know the trim is there for a reason but I wonder if it's only a precaution. Cause my 48x24x24 is made of 1/2" glass and it was rimless that someone turned euro.
I just don't want the seams to break. Anyone ever done this?

Although I have never done this, and don't have experience with tank building, it seems that it wouldn't be worth the risk to not have it braced if you remove the trim. It may be only precaution, but probably worthy if they put it there. Just my opinion.
