Does anyone have bio balls laying around they don't need/want I'm filling my overflow box with them so the water will trickle down rather than pour down cause this new tank is soooo freaking loud!! Lmk thanks

I don't have any, but Petsmart sells them at a decent price. Where is the noise coming from though? Is it falling water or the suction?

The reason I ask is because I am using the Bean Animal design, and I found that my overflow box still made noise. It was suggested to me by Dwolson2 to round the top interior edge of my overflow box. This took care of the noise, and caused the water the hug the wall instead of arching into the box.

Word of caution if you do use them, they will hold a lot of bacteria, so if you decide to wash them after they are in your tank do so slowly. Also I would wash them before you put them in your tank. If they have been out of water for a while, there will be a lot of die off on them. I think your problem is in the configuration, I don't think bio balls are the answer. But if you use them, be careful!

I could just put some filter padding instead change it out once a month

The route i would take if it was in your place is:
    Try out
Filter Floss from walmart, so cheap you can change it a few times a month which would give you more peace of mind!

i think that would dampen the sound alot! if that doesnt do it then like it was said its your setup

Ok will do. I just got back into Ventura with at least 100gallons of my water from my 135 and I took all the filter padding and shoved it in the overflow and that helped a lot.
