Beautiful Purple Tang 4-sale

Hey everyone, I have a beautiful Purple Tang for sale. He/She is 2-3 inches long, healthy, and an amazing algae eater! I currently have him with a pair of O.Clowns and they swim together in harmony.

The backstory: My tank is 1 month old, and being new to the hobby I made the mistake that I promised I would not make; buying on a whim. I was steared towards this fish and I was in awe of its beauty. Unfortunantly I did not research until AFTER I brought him home. He is doing fine, but does not match the type of tank my wife and I are creating. WE want a peaceful reef tank. Besides the possible aggressiveness of the fish, our tank is only 60G, which is much to small for this fish.

This was a rookie misktake, one that I would like to rectify by finding him a good home. I have tried CL, but the people who are inquiring are...

purple tang would go great in my tank. but I can't afford that much for him. hope you get to recoup some of the money you spent.

Ya, probably going to loss out quite a bit. I am trying to talk myself out of keeping him, although in two year I will be upgrading to a 250g. I figure I should learn the ropes before jumping into the ocean. At that point he would fit just fine. My concern is adding new fish to my tank now that he will have his roots in.

All-in-all, the best course of action, for the fish, is the sell him to someone who has a tank that can comfortably house him.

Thats not a bad price for the fish, they are super expensive and only available occasionally throughout the year since they mainly come in on red sea shipments. I have a nice one and I love them, but they get very aggressive as they get big.

Good luck and hopefully someone can take it off your hands. Might want to consider a trade too, might work out for you better.

Welcome Luke, too bad I already have 4 tangs in my 135g and PT is the dominant fish in the tank. Glws.

This experience has slowed me down a bit. We are now going to the lfs with specific things in mind; so far that has worked out. I would like to get 80-90$ for him if anyone is wondering my "ballpark."

yeah. It will take a few weeks to get them use to each other. that pbt made me come up with an elaborate way to acclimate to the tank.

The Purple Tang has found a new home. After serious stuggle getting him/her out of the tank I have learned a valuable lesson the hard way. DO NOT PUT FISH YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT IN YOUR TANK!! I had to tear down all my aquascaping to extract him from the tank safely. Thanks to all those who were interested.
